Reinsurance Technical Assistant

Summary

MS Transverse is looking for a dynamic and engaging Reinsurance Technical Assistant who is looking for an opportunity to join an industry-leading Property and Casualty insurance carrier focused on partnering with Reinsurers, MGAs/Program Administrators, and Insurtechs.

This role provides administrative and technical support to the reinsurance team with tasks like data gathering, report preparation, processing reinsurance documents, and ensuring accurate data entry and reconciliation within the reinsurance process.

We provide access to commercial and personal lines utilizing our admitted and non-admitted capabilities across all 50 states. You would join a deeply experienced and broadly talented operating team where your experience and drive will become instrumental in further growing our business.

Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and maintain accurate data related to reinsurance placements.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and reconciliation of reinsurance transactions.
  • Maintain and update reinsurance records and systems.
  • Assist underwriters with data gathering, report preparation, and other administrative tasks.
  • Prepare and maintain reinsurance-related documentation.
  • Liaise with external and internal parties such as MGA’s, brokers, underwriting, accounting, claims and other departments to facilitate the reinsurance process.
  • Assist with the review and agreement of broker-submitted accounts.
  • Validate financial information against supporting documentation and treaty terms.
  • Identify and resolve issues on submitted accounts with underwriters, claims teams, and brokers as required.
  • Provide information on the performance of specific accounts or portfolios to claims and underwriting teams.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Contribute to process optimization and innovation.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of relevant experience in an insurance/reinsurance company in reinsurance placements, terms & conditions, including statutory and reinsurance accounting implications.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance including contracts, underwriting, claims, accounting, finance and associated process, controls, and systems.
  • Experience in the structural design/implementation of reinsurance programs a plus.
  • Strong technical skills in Excel.
  • Organized, clear, and effective communication skills.
  • Analytical, decision making, problem resolution and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (finance, accounting, or risk management major preferred).
  • ARe/CPCU or advanced degree a plus.
